Our First Alley Cat

Stephen Barney has taken the reigns and organized an Alley Cat Race for all you sinners. Here is proof.

The flyer doesn't lie. The race is going to be Sunday July 22nd at 4pm starting at Turtle Park. If you are interested in racing, show up. If you are interested in being a race official let Stephen know by posting a comment and leaving your contact info.

I have the details worked out but I still need a couple of people to help out. Write me if you need more information. I'm accepting entries at 4:00 pm on the 15th via e-mail or at the start. There is a slight advantage to early entry!

For all of those thinking about racing in this would you let me know by posting a comment here or e-mailing me at the addy above pretty please. I am getting some great response to this thing but I've not a clue as to how many are going to actually do it. The last thing I want is not enough materials for all who wish to race. The second-to-last thing I want is to have materials that I do not need. Thanks.

A short update,
I still could use some help.
I have nailed down a prize list if I get the minimum number of riders entered.
I have some flyers to be distributed and I can have some more printed if needed.
I can't wait for race day!

Well boys and girls this event might just be the best non-fiasco event of the fbc! All of my helpers (thanks to each of them in advance) and I are really really excited about this one.

I have received about twenty-five e-mailed entries and I expect a lot more to register on Sunday at the big turtle. I am planning on being there about 3:00 pm, probably in the parking lot.
Remember you don't have to race to be a part of this event. I have enough help but I would like to include everyone and I have a few extra 'unique' spoke cards for extra helpers!
Also, there will be a less organized ride after the start and don't forget about the prize presentation including the coveted DFL prize.

See ya-all Sunday!

I came in third on the race for dead fucking last(24th out of a 26 person field.) My pockets were completely full of paper. Any more comments, it seems quiet in here?

ssshhhhh! I'm trying to think about another one in a different format.

Who wants to help organize it cause I would like to enter the next one.

Shannon, Rose was the only female entered and she DNF'd. I still gave her a prize just for going up against all of the fast fixies.

The fastest time was just over fifty minutes, with time bonuses it came to just over 34 minutes. I'm working on postable results later in the week, still have to catch up on everything else.

Thank you to everyone who raced and especially everyone who helped at all of the checkpoints!

Steven

ya know that second place is really just the first loser!

Hey Steven,
The Alley Cat was awesome and I can't thank you enough for putting so much time and energy into it! I had a blast at our checkpoint, though, had I known there was only 1 girl racing, I would have joined in--I'd be honored to be second to Rose. I'll probably put the pics up on Flickr in the next few days....they won't compare to Everett's mad skills, put you'll get the idea!

Jeff's Flickr link isn't working for me, anyone else have that problem?

And thanks again to Steven for all the hard work to pull it together. All that work and then not being able to ride in it takes a man with much strength.

I am sure everyone has seen this one, but in case you haven't this is a ride-along videotaping of a winter NYC messenger race.

The FBC Spokane blogspot is up! Not much to it, but I'd love it if you stopped by and said something. Rose did, why can't you?

I have sent the official results to Mr. Awesome and I can bring a couple of printouts to the next fiasco if anybody wants a copy, you'll have to let me know by posting here or e-mailing me directly. Just give me a little notice and I will make it happen.

If anybody has some pictures from the event would you please post them to flicker or bring me a disc or other form of digital copy please?
