Open Call

Hello fellow Lifetime Members For Life, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you the next official meeting of your Fucking Bike Club is scheduled for this Saturday night, June 26th. It will not be the underwear ride. It will be our 64th contiguous full moon bike ride and It promises to be a Summer night in St. Louis. How should we spend it?

If anyone out there has an idea for a great route that we've never done before, or a fun destination that can accommodate several hundred cheap and sweaty bike riders on a Saturday night, don't be shy. Use the Contact The FBC link and let it be known!

Full Moon Fiasco #64: As Yet Undecided.

DEFINITELY. BOCCE. BALL.

Milo's (5201 Wilson Ave, aka Wilson & Marconi) has an outdoor bocce ball field/court/whatever you call it. Every time I've been there, it's been pretty slow (read: lots of room and bartender attention for the FBC), but I don't know if I've ever been on a Saturday night...

Although, apparently St. Louis is hosting the US Bocce Championship this week??? Woot StL

There's no way in hell Milo's can hold a saturday night fbc... I vote for a swimsuit ride to some body of water that can hold many, and all i can think of is... the Grand Basin. Don't know if that increases our PR with the city tho...

Milo's is usually busy on saturday nights. and the bocce courts (pronounced "Boe-Chee" lol) close at 11 i believe. I used to work there back in the day.

I vote for the body of water!!

A very late prom set. I vote against grand basin, we get kicked out of there before we even get a chance to party. Hell, last underwear ride, the rangers trailed us the whole way through the park, we wouldn't have even got a chance to jump in.

ok lee asked for ideas, so i'll throw one out. how about the "2010 tour de parks". we could do a loop thru forest, franz, lindenwood, tilles, francis, sublette, vigo, tower grove and clifton not nec. in that order. at each park, a brief stop with some kind of group chug. (pack ur backpacks). it's cheap and i don't think been done before. the grove has a couple events (beach bash on boyle and a cool burlesque show at atomic) going on so we cold mosey there after the last stop. for those not wanting to spend money, we could turn manchester into an fbc free for life event. as far as a theme i'd say wear your most craptastic old biker gear you have. just my frickin' two cents.

lee i think i could map out a pretty good route and deliver it to you in a sealed envelope that will be kept in a mayo jar on my porch until saturday if you need it.

.."Parks in the Dark", "Glow-in-the-Park"?

Glow-in-the-dark themed ride through all the parks? It could happen!

"2010 Tour De Parks", now that's creative.

Can we do the River De Peres Greenway and/or Carondolet, too? They's so pretty.

Is this gonna be an 11:00 ride or an early ride?

June 25, 2010 4:16 PM
Anonymous 2010 tour de parks said...

well the nine i mentioned are in a pretty good loop. if we stop at each one and chug it's gonna take awhile. we could pick up wilmore (is that the river des peres greenway?) pretty easy. my idea was to hit some city streets we don't normally hit, and hit some of the obscure little parks.

and yes "glow in the park" is a grand theme. wish i had thought of it. 100 glow sticks at walmart for like $12. but i still say since it's a "bike tour" you gotta wear your most craptastic old bike gear you have.

but it's lee's call. he's the captain. if not this time, maybe another.

just my frickin' two cents......

June 26, 2010 7:50 AM

ok here's my two million cents. it's saturday night and the ride will be huge. it is pride weekend and the grove will be hoppin'. some kind of ride on the so. side ending up on manchester seems appropriate. park idea sounds cool and cheap. glow in the park thing sounds cool and cheap. and the site of a couple hundred of the most awesome people in st. louis showing up on manchester at the stroke of midnight in a rainbow of glowing colors on bikes? well that's just priceless!!!!!!!!!!! i say let's do it! but that's just me.....

June 26, 2010 8:16 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

omg love that. rainbow of glowing luv on manchester at the (heat)stroke of midnight = REVOLUTION. Can we do parks, glow, and still end up on Manchester? That trio would be hot.

Anonymous straight eye for the queer guy said...

yeah i think that would be awesome. the fbc has always been the most bestest group of people in town. let's show 'em some rainbow colors.

besides that, pridefest is always awesome. those peeps know how to party. let's show em how the fbc rolls!

rollin' in there with 200 rainbow warriors at low noon would be the scene!

where's lee? we good? glow in the park?

ok here's my plan. i have 3 walmarts close. i will pick up every glow stick they have and sell them at cost to the fbc lifetime members for life. if not i can take 'em back. if lee says yes, i say we roll with the rainbows. sounds awesome. :P

i was way over my alcohol limit last night leaving atomic when a bungee caught my spokes and took me out. I wasn't even back on my drunken feet yet and two lifetime members for life stopped, cut the damn thing off with a swiss army knife that magically apppeared out of thin air, put my chain back on in the process getting greasy as all hell, handed me back my bike, and left the scene as fast as it happened. it was like a sudden gust of bike mechanic blew over me. i didn't even get a chance to thank them! man what a night! fbc rules!!!!!!!!! and thanks!!!!

lee you picked one hell of a night to go canoeing! EPIC is all i'll say. the best part (one of many) is after some particularly athletic fbc'er for life performed some amazing aerial manuever in the dance circle culminating with a kryponite lock falling out of his backpack from ten feet up in the air while upside down, the guy in the party jeep proceeded to do a standing back flip. wtf? the guy was like 50 and wearing a suit. i bet the guy in the 7/11 is still talking about it. i have some really good pics i'll email lee. the insanity is in full blown epic proportions.

the epicity was off the charts.

Quit calling the FBC flagship ride an "FBC". I don't want to hear another one you Lifetime Members for Life say "next FBC" or "last FBC" ever again. The ride is called a FIASCO! FBC is the CLUB. It is an acronym for Fucking Bike Club. The rides are fiascos.

You have been warned. Do not make this mistake again.
