Old Glory
Flag Day is just around the corner. A night when The Fucking Bike Club hangs out with flags, drinks beer, and sings loudly to people at outdoor dinning areas.

anything planned for saturday night?
The proper lyrics to YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG:
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high-flyin' flag,
Yah dah dee, Yah dah dee, Yah dah day...HEY!
(smacking the table or whatever surface is available nearest to you with the palm or fist of your hand is to coincide directly with the shouting of "HEY" in the above transcription)
(Also substitute any other nonsense for the nonsense presented within the lyrics above)

Tonight we learned that "Grand Old Flag" starts with the line, "You're a grand old *rag*."
It was a learning experience for all.
Covered in beer, other people's sweat, my flag tarnished and stinky; my spirit does soar. Thank you for another wonderful evening, FBC. Who needs a date when I have you?
Love always,
Jenn D

Hmmm that Facebook gallery doth verily avoid loading up!
I am pretty certain that use of the word "rag" in "You're A Grand Old Flag" is a variation on/from the original Cohan tune. That's the chorus, though--"There's a feeling comes a-stealing" is the actual first line from the verse! There's a whole part of that song that nobody ever sings/knows. [pushes glasses up nose]
