Brass Tacks

Its time to figure out a location for prom. The big day is Saturday May 9th and we would need the venue from 9 or 10pm until close. There also needs to be a dance floor and a PA system. Does anybody have a line on a venue that could fit 150 people and that we could get for free? Tell them we are a thirsty bunch and they will make plenty of dough at the bar.

If not, I've got a list of VFW halls and Cultural Societies to call. They will cost a few hundred dollars to rent, so we will have to charge admission to prom. Obviously free is better, so if you can hook up a place for free let us know in the comments or use "contact the FBC" to send us an email.

The Skatium is not an option.

Now get to work!

Talayna's = cover charge on weekend plus their weekend crowds SUCK

Skatium = people skating, not dancing

place is going to have to be cool with rampant "outside" booze being consumed at their place of business which is going to rule out almost all bars

charge $5 and rent a VFW and get some kegs...

I would assume that a VFW hall would not be BYOB. They will want to sell alcohol.

What about Joes Cafe. I know that place has been shut down on Thursday nights but maybe he would let us rent the space for one night. There is loads of room inside and out. Just an idea.

Joes would be great. I heard Bill reopened, I haven't actually been since he closed it though. Anybody know if there is any truth to the supposed reopening?

Does anyone know how to read?

The prom is on a Saturday night...bars are not going to want to give up a Saturday night to host the prom. They'll let us in but the space will be shared with non FBC Lifetime Members for Life.

Its time for the "closet" ravers to come out and tell us where some sweet guerilla style warehouse spaces are...

or we just bring boom boxes and party on Grants Trail again

or we crash in on Shady Jack's (3am bar)

or we check out White Flag (should be cool as long is there is no hay)?

City Museum is VERY expensive to rent, and is usually booked up on weekends.

@ Atomic cowboy you can rent the patio area for private parties and they close it off to all others even on weekends. Call um I mean how many FBC kids go there on Sundays, and I know a few Dj there. I bet we could get a deal!!!

have you been to atomic cowboy lately on a saturday? you could swing a baseball bat in there on a saturday night and not hit many people. if anybody knows the guy, i am sure he'd work something out. most likely they'd give us the dj room and want the patio open to other customers though similar to what they do on all the other "parties" like that stupid filthy party they had saturday.

and are you kidding me? i see FBC people there all the time. he better put up an FBC special on PBR and revel in the fact that the place will be THE place to be for a night.

did anybody see the FBC after party there last year? it was crazy! and btw, teh WNBR is going to do it on a saturday again this year at atomic.

i mean i am all for some private place too, but i think atomic would be more than happy to have a no cover PBR special for 150 FBC for life and regular atomic drinking people....

just my two cents.....

i meant the WNBR after party last year, which they are doing again this year at atomic.

the WNBR just ended up there after considering lots of alternatives. there are only so many cool alternative type bars in st louis of that size.

i bet atomic would love to have the FBC. if it were my bar i would.
