Aprilween! and Volunteer Needed

Heads up-- the April Full Moon Fiasco is Aprilween. Halloween costumes are required to attend. This year Aprilween will be celebrated on Sunday April 17th. Meet at Turtle Park around 10:30pm.

From Turtle Park we will be riding first to the South Compton Water Tower which is being kept open for us. For $5 cash (which goes to the preservation of St. Louis water towers) you can climb to the top of the tower and party nearer the moon in an Aprilween costume. The people that are keeping the tower open for us are looking for one volunteer to assist them. This volunteer would be able to do the rest of the ride, but would need to skip the meet-up at Turtle Park. Any takers? Let us know in the comments.

Cousin Hugos? Isn't that kind of November 2005ish. Check the blog post to relive the fun and the arrests

HA and you people think littering is a problem?

Well you're certainly right but not so much as arrests though

$5 to go up in the middle of the night at the water tower? Is it a donation or required?

$5 is required if you want to go up in the tower.

I called it a donation to make it clear that some dude is not turning a profit off us. He is giving us a rad opportunity and charging $5 to help maintain one the the countless things that make St. Louis so fucking awesome.

Anybody who doesn't want to give up a fiver is welcome to enjoy the tower from the ground. It's awesome from that perspective too.

and a rad opportunity it is. i'll have my $5 in my greasy fist and a cold one in the other. i always wanted to go up in that thing, and now i get to do it on an fbc ride.

i dedicate this video to the night. and i changed the lyrics around a bit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n07qiAo1lM

Everywhere the bikes did ride,
The tower lies just ahead
Ride is long, still I carry on
In my hand a cold one.
As I look there upon the hill,
There it stands so tall
Said that stone structured wall of gold,
Will heed the voice of us all.

Just a light, from a tower
Burning on from dusk to dawn
Just a light, from a tower
Burning on from dusk to dawn

I think that's awesome you have an arrangement to go up in the tower at night! I've been up in it during the day and it's very cool. $5 is well worth it. Also, I would recommend bringing a flashlight because if memory serves, there are not many lights and twisty stairs. :)
