Cold Ride For Cold Beer

The Fucking Bike Club's Cold Ride For Cold Beer gets off the drawing board and on to the streets of Southern Illinois this saturday (dec 2nd) at noon. Meet up at the Turtle Park around 11:30 we are leaving promptly at noon. The ride to Fast Eddies Bon Aire is about 35 miles but the beer is less than 32 degrees. After we've had our fun with Fast Eddie, its a camp out/camp in the garage of Kirsten and Stinkerbells house followed by the equally awesome ride back the next morning.

This is a long ride so please bring what you need to keep your bike rolling the whole way there and back. Don't be like Scott and learn to change a flat tire (oh snap!) before you attempt to cross state lines on your two wheeler.

You should get home with enough time to take a shower before covering your bike in lights and mounting up for the Full Moon Fiasco #20: Ride To The Light: Another Fesitivis Miracle on Monday Night.

You'd be a fool to miss any part of it.

If you will be attending please give Scott and Kirsten a heads up so they can know how many people will be sleeping in their garage. Scotts Myspace name is SOS. Check The FBC's top eight.

As Your Attorney I Advise You To Decorate Your Bike With Festivis Lights.

Full Moon Fiasco #20, Monday, December 4th.
Leaving from Pat's Bar (across from the Turtle Park) at 11:00pm.

This ride is being planned and organized by dedicated FBCer, loving husband, father, and member of the Missouri Bar Association, the one and only Joe Deko!

Fiasco #20 promises an excellent route as design by Joe Deko, Esquire. Mr. Deko also requested that everyone in attendence please adorn their bike with as many lights as humanly possible. Acording to Joe, Target offers battery powered incandecent and LED holiday lights at a reasonable price. I would also suggest looking into glow sticks by the case, taping flashlights to your bike or affixing a camp fire to your rack. Let the Festivis spirit take hold of you and anything is possible.

Its another Festivis miracle!

You Think Drinking Beer Goes Well With Bike Riding? Try It With Reading.

The Fucking Book Club will have its next meeting Wednesday December 6th at the Tin Can at 7:30pm.

This is not a joke.

The book for this month is Devil In The White City, by Erik Larson. If you are into discussing some non-fiction, drinking cheap beer and collecting commemorative book marks than this might be the book club for you!

Also For more information about the Fucking Bowling Club contact Local #1's own John Patterson.

Biking and Charity

Over the last few days at the shop I've been talking with this guy, Andrew, who's putting on a bike ride fundraising thing called Cranksgiving the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I figure some of you might be interested. I don't think there will be any event-promoted drinking though. Do FBCers ride bikes during the day? While sober? For Charity?
Here's the flyer, click on it for the info:

For those of you who may have differences with some of those in charge with Bikeworks, the ride is not directly affiliated with them. Andrew chose the location for its familiarity with a lot of people.

Fiasco 19. Pretty Fuckin Great. If I Had To Guess.

Fiasco 19 was great?

I can't say for sure. I wasn't actually there so much... or at all.

I did make spoke cards. I did want to go. But in the end the BMXer in me won out over the ten-speeder and Cole and I spent the night shreddin' at a big BMX event at Rampriders.

A reliable source tells me, that after much dilly dallying, corner sitting, and Saddlebags nearly losing a finger, the Fiasco made it to Rampriders.

The rain threatened and we had some organizational issues. Thats why we call them Fiascos. Would you really want lifetime membership in The Flawless Bike Club?

NEXT FIASCO: Monday December 4th.

Fiasco 19! Regular Old Fiasco.

I am happy to announce that after many failed attempts at a theme, tonights Fiasco is just a regular old full moon bike ride. No gimmicks no tricks. If you need more stimulation bring a game boy or something.

Start Studying Now. Don't Wait til Sunday and Cram at Pat's.

As you know, Full Moon Fiasco 19 is Sunday November 5th.

As you also know, THE FUCKING BIKE CLUB has had a FULL MOON FIASCO 18 times before. But do you know which Fiasco was Michael Bussman's last as a St. Louis resident? Do you remember which hill we gravity raced down into a slushy softball field? Do you know the name of Rob Bell's band? Do remeber on which Clayton sidewalk the FBC drank a plastic handle of whiskey? Could you pick Sandbox, or Saddlebags out of a lineup? What are Deko's kids names?

Dont know the answers? Its studyin' time FBCers. Fiasco 19 will require an encyclopedic knowledge of FBC history. If you want to get an "A" remember that the FBC also puts on totally rad races and stuff.

Fiasco 19 leaves from Pat's, across from the turtle park, on Oakland Ave at 11:00pm sharp this sunday. Bring a portable GPS device and your thinking caps.
